  36T - (1980-1981)

   Original Members:

   John Costello: guitar, vocals
   Craig Smith: guitar, keyboards, vocals
   Bryan Mealy: bass, vocals
   John Flood: drums
   Kehl Conaughton: vocals, guitar, keyboards

This band was formed by John Costello. John had been  the guitar player for 'Dogface', a popular Coronado band during that era. John added Bryan as a bass player and later added Kehl and Craig. Kehl was a singer who had been working primarily in England before joining 36T. Craig was an established Coronado musician.

The band was completed with the addition of John Flood, a percussionist and music major at UCSD. 36T played new-wave music and did their best to look the part. They played many gigs at San Diego area military institutions, a few Coronado HS dances in the (multipurpose room), a few gigs at UCSD, and a few gigs at nightclubs in the San Diego area.

They practiced either at John Costello's home or a converted garage at Quarters T at the naval officers housing on North Island. The band split up when Craig joined 'Dirk Debonair and the Boat People'. John Costello, Bryan, and Kehl went on to form 'Kehl and the Ratners' and John Flood completed his music degree at UCSD.
