Myself, Jonathan Korth - Drums, last attended CHS in 1977. I dropped out my senior year, 1978 and did not graduate with the rest of the class. Michelle and John Castello were in the class of 1979 I believe. You can check with John Castello on that. Andy Shaffer started playing the drums for Deliverance I believe, in 1974. I took his place in 1975 and continued until John Castello and I decided to quit in early 1978 I think. I don't know about the rest. Again, check with John Castello.

Dean,
After high school, I joined the Army and was station in Germany for 2 years. There, I played in a cover band. Also, upon return to the states, I was stationed a Ft. Lewis Washington and played in several bar bands. In the early 90's, I played with an original Grunge band in Seattle called "Hate Mail from Home". We practised in the same building as bands like Pearl Jam, Sound Garden and Alice in Chains. We received air play on FM with the local college station PLU. That was a blast. To hear yourself on the radio. Since then, I have become a born again christian and up until a few years ago, I played at church. Rockin' Worship of course.

Hey Dean. John Costello here. One correction or addition needs to be made regarding the band Deliverance. I think Andy played drums with us for a little while but for most of the bands existence the drummer was actually John Korth. Thanks. Hope all is well with you. Take care, John. BTW. I think it's a really cool thing what you've done with that website. Thank you. John

I saw the listing for Deliverance. Andy Shaffer is listed as the drummer circa 1978. As John Castello will concur, I took over as the drummer from Andy around 1975 and was with them till the end.

Andrew Shaffer,

I was in a band while at CHS.  Deliverance with Dave Wells (Not CHS / approx 24 then) and John Costello. I have forgotten the name of our original bass player but John Lewis used to fill in. Many years and a few bands ago.

I don't know of any photos from that era. I can't recall the bass player but it wasn't Zolla. We had control of the Coronado Armory at the time through Toby Leflang and built a rehearsal studio there. Ed Olmos, John Lewis and Dale Thompson were regular visitors. Joey Harris, Billy Thompson and Paul Kamanski were occasional visitors too and it was always great when they would sit in.

Feel free to grab pics off of the Slacker site. We'll hopefully be picking up some gigs when our bass player returns from India, hopefully without contracting some horrible, wasting disease. Bass players!
